Orkney is served by two weekly local newspapers, The Orcadian and Orkney Today,[15] both published every Thursday.
A local BBC radio station, BBC Radio Orkney, the local opt-out of BBC Radio Scotland, broadcasts twice daily, with local news and entertainment. Orkney also has a community radio station, The Superstation Orkney.
The Bauer Radio owned stations, Moray Firth Radio, Northsound 1 and Northsound 2 can also be heard on parts of the islands, with poor reception
